On October 12, 2025, world-renowned Italian photographer Roberto Di Asiti visited the Kashaaf Al-Ghita’a Public Foundation and Library, as well as the Mahdiyya Religious School in Najaf. The visit is part of his tour in Iraq aimed at documenting cultural and artistic landmarks, including Islamic heritage sites.

The purpose of the visit was to shed light on Najaf’s rich manuscript and documentary heritage, along with its prominent religious seminaries (Hawzas), which hold significant scholarly and historical value. The delegation was warmly received by Sheikh Kashaaf Al-Ghita’a, who welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of documenting Islamic and cultural landmarks in a way that reflects the true nature of Najaf and helps present these sites to the world in the best possible light.

For his part, photographer Di Asiti expressed his deep interest in capturing these landmarks as part of his ongoing project to publish a photo book documenting Iraq’s historical, cultural, humanitarian, and Islamic features. He praised the efforts of the Kashaaf Al-Ghita’a Foundation in preserving this valuable heritage and appreciated the cooperation and support provided to facilitate his documentation work.
